WSL announces that Snapper Rocks will host the WSL Challenger Series
In partnership with World Surf League, Major Events Gold Coast have announced that they've secured the Gold Coast to place host to the opening event of the WSL Challenger Series in a three-year deal, from 2022 – 2024.
The event will see 160 of the world’s best surfers descending on the Gold Coast as they battle for a spot on the 2023 elite Championship Tour. The 2022 Challenger Series will see eight events held in six countries at some of the most iconic waves in the world, and Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast will sit atop this list as the opening event of the season, running in the wave-rich month of May.
The major event is set to provide a much-needed economic boost to the city, while showcasing our incredible coastline to an international audience.
